United Democratic Front (UDF) said all politicians that were responsible for instilling a spirit of violence in its youth are now in other political parties.
UDF Deputy Director for Youth Shaibu Kaliati said this during the launch of the party’s youth wing for the Central Region in Lilongwe.
“We are a reformed youth. We are a different youth group from what people used to know. This is all because all politicians that were responsible for instilling violence spirits have gone to other parties,” said Kaliati, who is also parliamentarian for Machinga Central.
He then urged the youth in the party to be ambassadors of ‘Agenda for Change’, a campaign which was launched by the party’s president Atupele Muluzi.
“We want our youth to be championing the Agenda for Change campaign because it’s them who you will benefit greatly,” said Kaliati.
Some of the politicians who dumped UDF for other parties are Cassim Chilumpha, Kennedy Makhwangwala Ibrahim Matola, Humphreys Mvula and George Nga Ntafu (PP), Friday Jumbe and Sam Mpasu (New Labours Party).
