Malawi National under 20 women’s team captain Zainab Kapanda says the girls are ready to pull a win against Zimbabwe this coming Saturday.
The two teams square up at the Barbourfields Stadium in a 2020 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier preliminary Round return leg after playing out a 1 all draw in the first leg in Blantyre two weeks ago.
Speaking after a loosening session at Liveve
Stadium on Thursday afternoon, Kapanda said
the team has learnt on what it takes to play away after the Zambia friendly.
“This is our first outing in a major competition and we needed to have that feel of playing away from home before facing Zimbabwe
We also learnt about the need to take chances. In Zambia we had a lot of chances in the first half but we didn’t utilize them and got punished.
“We will start from where we stopped in Malawi where we had a great performance towards the end of the match,” said Kapanda.
