The Malawi Police Service (MPs) has arrested two people in connection with the gruesome murder of eight Motorcycle Taxi drivers whose bodies were exhumed on Sunday by an angry mob within a compound of a house under construction at Biwi in Lilongwe.
Lilongwe Police Station Public Relations Officer, Sub Inspector Joseph Kachikho identified the suspects as a 32 year-old Blessings Lifaa and Shadreck Ndalama of 25 years of age.
According to Kachikho, the first suspect, Lifa, hired a motorcyclist, Dismas Emmanuel, at Area 36 on 14 December 2019.
Ever since, Emmauel went missing until Sunday (yesterday) when his body was exhumed at Biwi within a compound of a house under construction,
The police further said, the suspect Lifa has revealed that he murdered the motorcyclist and buried him within the compound where he works as a guard.
Police officers and medical personnel exhumed the body and postmortem revealed that death was due to head injury caused by a sharp object.
Blessings Lifa hails from Mphola village in the area of Traditional Authority Ganya in Ntcheu while Shadreck Ndalama hails from Mangamba village in the area of T/A Liwonde in Machinga.
