The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) is conducting a 5-day CAF D License Coaching Course for Secondary school teachers at the Mpira Village in Blantyre.
The course which started on Monday has attracted 16 Secondary School Physical Education (P.E.) teachers from Eight selected schools within Blantyre city. Malawian CAF instructor Carolyne Kagalu Phiri is facilitating the course.
According to FAM Technical Director, John Kaputa the participants are those that have been coaching Under 15 Girls Football Teams in their respective schools.
“The course has given a special attention to the PE teachers who have been coaching the Under 15 girls Seven-A-side league teams.
“The Eight schools started playing seven-A-side League last year under the sponsorship of FIFA but now CAF has come in with more support and there are chances to go to other districts after this pilot phase,” said Kaputa.
The Eight secondary schools that have been selected for the pilot phase of the FIFA/FAM Under 15 Ggirls Seven- Aside League include ST Kizito, Chichiri, Soche Hill, Lunzu, Stella Maris, Kalibu Academy, Saint Andrews International High School and Trinity secondary school.-FAM
