University of Livingstonia political scientist George Phiri has advised Malawi President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and his Vice Dr. Saulos Chilima to forget politics and focus on developing the nation.
The Mzuzu based Analyst, Phiri issued the advised after the High Court seating as Constitutional Court in Lilongwe nullified 21 May Presidential Polls and restored Dr. Chilima as country’s vice president.
“What they (Mutharika and Chilima) are supposed to do is to focus on the development of this country,” said Phiri.
Speaking during a presser recently, Dr. Chilima expressed commitment to help in developing the country further.
On Monday, a panel of five High Court judges, headed by Justice Healey Potani nullified the 21 May 2019 presidential elections and ordered that Mutharika maintains his presidency until a fresh poll is conducted within 150 days from the date of judgment.
