The Lilongwe chapter of the Beyond Beauty Ladies Ministry has planned to reach out to patientsat Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwein theBurns Unit 3B on February 29 from 1;30p to 4pm, under the theme ‘His Love In Action’ James 1:27.
Burns Unit is a ward where people that have been involved in fire accidents are treated.
In an interview with the Malawi News Agency (MANA) Financial Director for the Ministry, Agnes Tamanda Mbewe, said the visit seeks to pour out the love of Jesus Christ to the burns unit patients by comforting and preaching as well as sharing giftswith them among others.
“Jesus instructed us not to love with mere words but talk in action, it is easy for people to say they love others but when it comes to practical sacrifices and expressions of love they do not do them so we are expressing God’s love through our deeds,” Mbewe said.
She said they have chosen the Burns Unit because it is rarely visited, and the physical needs, fellowship and happiness the Ministry felt the patients from the unit need.
She alsopointed out that the occasion will bring to the patients the comfort that God loves them unconditionally and that he would send people whom they hardly knew to love them.
In a separate interview, another member of the Ministry, Abigail Chimbamata said the ministry teaches them that God is love therefore they ought to do their very best to show love to others as well.
“We believe that Christ first loved us and we ought to love others too,” she said.
Chimbamata added that, they hope that the patients will get to know that God still loves them and cares for them through their visit.
“The bible tells us that God will ask us:‘I was sick but you never came to visit me, I was in jail but you never cared to come to see me’, so it is of great impact that we act on the word that we are fed daily at Beyond Beauty Ladies Ministry,” she said.
Beyond Beauty Ladies Ministry holdsthe month of February as a love month wherein they do outreaches in various cities.
