Malawi has now registered first COVID-19 death in Blantyre, Malawi Voice has learnt.
This follows the critical condition the patient was diagnosed with the virus a week ago.
Sources told the publication that deceased is Marhoom Rehana Kali from Blantyre.
Malawi authorities are yet to make official communication on the matter.
As of Monday, April 5, 2020 Malawi registered five COVID-19 cases, three in Lilongwe while two Blantyre.
