The Minister of Health Jappie Mhango, who also Chairperson for a Special Cabinet Committee of Coronavirus, has confirmed a second Covid-19 death in the country.
Minister Mhango made the confirmation during a press briefing held in Mzuzu on Saturday.
According to Mhango, the deceased a Canadian of Burundian origin was tested positive on Friday died today (Saturday) at Bwaila Hospital in Lilongwe.
He further disclosed that a wife to the deceased and her in-law have also been tested positive.
Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 has now risen to twelve in Malawi with the recent confirmed case in Nkhotakota district thus according to the Minister.
The Nkhotakota case involves a man who recently returned from South Africa, Mhango confirmed.
According to this article, there are 4 new cases: the Canadian/Burundian, his wife and her in-law plus the Nkhotakota man. Prior to the discovery of these, Malawi had already registered 9 cases, the 9th one being the N’gabu man. How come this article is saying cases rise to 12? Is 9+4=12? What kind of arithmetic is this?
