Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Lawyer Tamando Chokhotho says he is more than ready to represent the commission in the Presidential election appeal case.
Chokhotho made the remarks on Monday in Lilongwe after Supreme Court through Chief Justice Andrew Nyirenda blocked South African lawyers from presenting the commission.
The Lawyers failed to make it to Malawi due to a lock-down and they represented themselves to the Malawian Embassy in South Africa where they wanted to participate in the case through video teleconferencing which the Chief Justice objected to.
MEC opted to hire two South African lawyers after High Court stopped the Attorney General Kalekeni Kaphale from representing the Commission in any matters related to the 2019 Presidential case.
