Plan Donates Covid-19 Protective Equipment to Ministry Of Health

Plan International Malawi on Thursday handed over assorted protective equipment for health workers to the Ministry of Health.

The items include N95 masks, regular masks, gloves, goggles, chlorine, disposable aprons, disposable gowns, gum boots, emergency service medical suits, buckets, soap and infrared thermometers among others.

Receiving the consignment on behalf of the Malawi Government, Deputy Director for Clinical Services in the Ministry of Health, Janet Guta said the donation had come at the right time and it was the biggest so far.

“This is the biggest donation we have received so far targeting health workers in response to the Covid19.

“We are grateful to Plan International for taking a leading role in mitigating the emergency we have at hand. We shall make sure the items are used and utilized for the right purpose,” said Guta.

Plan International Malawi Country Director, Phoebe Kasoga said as a development partner, it was significant for Plan International to support the Ministry of Health and particularly health workers in public hospitals.

The items will be distributed in 49 health facilities spread out in the districts of Blantyre, Lilongwe, Mzuzu, Mulanje, Kasungu, Chitipa and Machinga.
