UTM leader Saulos Chilima is a man in need of mental help! His levels of desperation for power and contradictions in conduct leaves an observer worried about him.
To begin with, his statement on Covid-19 does not have anything new to Malawians. But what is telling is that he did not know that he is contradicting himself.
Here is how: Two weeks ago, he coughed K1.5 million for HRDC’s legal fees in obtaining an injunction stopping government from implementing further measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
Today, he stands on the podium and suggests that government is not doing enough in responding to the crisis. He could not see the contradiction he was making of himself. This blindness is because Chilima has a corrosive obsession for power.
Since 2014 when he became vice president, he has craved for the Presidency itself, to the extent of plotting against the life of President Peter Mutharika so that he can take over power.
And while he has failed to achieve the ambition, he has taken solace in elevating himself to the status.
His PR actions intended to steal the limelight from President Mutharika are an expression of the failure of his dark plots.
On Sunday evening, he gave what he called an address to the nation. It was his equivalent of State of the Nation Address which is delivered by the President.
But Malawians need to know that this address did not just come. Chilima has been plotting against the life of President Mutharika since the judges returned him to the vice presidency.
According to his plan, President Mutharika should have been dead by Thursday, upon which he would have taken over the Presidency.
It is on this basis that since Thursday his followers have gone flat out spreading false rumours that Mutharika is dead. Their action has not just been a coincidence.
He had already prepared a State of Nation Address he would deliver. Noticing that his plan to assassinate Mutharika has failed, he still had to wear the airs of the President by giving a dumped down statement.
Obsessed with over-ambition to become President without being elected, Chilima has become a danger to himself, a man whose nature is being weighed down by a sin of covetousness, desperation and murderous intention.
Saulos Chilima has become a monster whose prey is himself…….
He is mad. He is carelessly overspeeding. He is likely to crash one of these days. Chilima please slow down. You are becoming a shadow of yourself. Government’s move not to challenge the injunction was a smart one. And you saw it. And you were frustrated by it. You are moving too fast. Slow down.
Slow down bwana Vp. You are moving too fast. You wanna crash one of these days. Government’s decision not to challenge the injunction was a smart move. After all we have a pandemic that is spreading in Malawi so let’s wait and see.
