PAC Commends President Mutharika For Commitment To Dialogue

President Mutharika with PAC delegates at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre

The Public Affairs Committee (PAC) has commended Malawi President Professor Peter Mutharika for his open-door policy on issues of national importance.

PAC made the commendation today, Wednesday, at its meeting with President Mutharika at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre.

PAC Chairperson, Monsignor Dr Patrick Thawale said the organization was pleased that the President has always been warm to cordial and constructive conversation.

He said the Presidents “quick response” in accepting their request to meet him signified his readiness and willingness to constructive dialogue on issues affecting Malawians.

Mutharika is committed to Dialogue- Thawale

“This meeting today demonstrates the importance you attach to constructive dialogue. We thank you for your openness to foster such conversations between us,” said Thawale.

In his remarks, President Mutharika said it was in his interest to engage organizations such as PAC on matters of national importance.

“Public Affairs Committee holds an important place in the history of our country. It has been instrumental in the foundation of democracy in Malawi,” he said.

On the agenda at the meeting included the political situation after the court ruling and Malawi’s response to coronavirus.

Among members of PAC that are attending the meeting includes PAC Executive Director Robert Phiri, Publicity Secretary Gilford Matonga, vice chairperson Osman Karim and board member Agness Kamoto.

  1. PAC, commitment to dialogue! Which dialogue PAC. This man would rather meet his foes in the streets under running battles. He is not a peace maker and like his late brother who threatened to smoke out his enemies, he does not value dialogue. Thanks poti makalawako tea waboma.
