Malawian celebrated music artist Patience Namadingo has asked his followers to stop calling him a gospel artist.
The brain behind Moyo wa Kumwamba and other gospel songs, Namadingo made the remarks after some of his fans accused him of mixing gospel and secular music.
“I am not a Gospel Musician. I am just a Musician. It is my Job. I’m sure you also have jobs and they are not Gospel Jobs. I choose what to sing. The gospel is just another message I choose to share as I do my job,” Namadingo posted on Facebook.
Namadingo who is also FDH Bank Brand Ambassador further added: “If you need a 100% Gospel Musician who only sings about Jesus then we have lots of them out there. I am not one of them. I also have other things I want to sing about.”
Recently, Namadingo stormed the music industry with his Mash-Up in which he featured Music icons such as Billy Kaunda, Lucius Banda and Black Missionaries.
