By Barbara Mwandira

Mighty Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Nkhatabay Central Symon Vuwa Kaunda and Kenneth Ndovie of Karonga Nyungwe on Tuesday stormed Likoma and Chizumulu Islands with voter registration messages.

Kaunda who is also Minister of Tourism urged the people from the two Island districts to register in the on-going Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) voter registration exercise and vote for President Professor Peter Mutharika in the forthcoming presidential elections.

“….Vote for His Excellency the state President Professor Peter Mutharika in the forth-coming fresh presidential elections for development to continue here in Likoma and Chizumulu,” said Kaunda

Malawi will hold fresh presidential elections on 2 July 2020, thus according to Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) calendar.

  1. SKC ONCE MIGHTY..LAST POLITICAL BREATH*
_Dear All as I write this article its hours before 9 am tomorrow since history will remind us of a young adult who at 41 was plucked from comfort of CEO office with international telecomm company by one -APM- to become the youngest Vice President in the country’s history. 1 million plus SKC votes will be cast in the ocean tomorrow to be split between DPP and MCP as young citizenry get confused in the process. Its tomorrow Wednesday 6 May 2020 when SKC travel his last mile in politics not to be on ballot but to escort an alliance partner whose heart …nobody knows..MCP has to wait 30 years to get the right shoulders in UTM to see sunshine but ur guess is good as mine.SKC is to blame if he is cast aside or wait 10 years after..by the time he will be 57 too old to convince young adults. Greed and impatient will wipe SKC forever…He had chance to claim Presidency in 3 years from now as APM retires and DPP get confused in succession hangovers. But I am not SKC adviser to see blunder of alliance but fact is assuming alliance succeed SKC should wait 10 years and young politicians will emerge then. UTM is set to be a party that promised much and delivered nothing..the Cris-crossing of the width and breadth of the country is set to be wasted forever…by tomorrow if SKC cant think right in few hours from now_
*SKC you had the chance to be patient but greed will eventually pay you not in 3 years time but 10 years from now.Malawi has lost a chance to have a youthful president…I rest my case…HARVEY C…POLITICAL ANALYST*
