The Ministry of Health has confirmed two new cases of Covid-19 bringing the total number of confirmed cases 43 in Malawi.
Minister in the Ministry, Jappie Mhango confirmed the development on Wednesday during a media briefing held in Lilongwe.
According to Mhango, the two cases have been confirmed by laboratories at College of Medicine in Blantyre and National Heath Reference Lab in Lilongwe.
Mhango said the new cases are of a 41 year old man in Lilongwe who recently travelled to Mozambique and 38 year old man in Thyolo who recently travelled to Tanzania.
“Health workers are tracing all the contacts of the two cases so that they can also be followed up and tested for the virus,” said Mhango
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has appealed to Malawians to continue observing Covid-19 prevention measures.
