Chitipa District Commissioner, Humphreys Gondwe has become the first to Malawi government official to die of Covid-19.
Spokesperson in the Ministry of Local Government, Muhlabase Mughogho confirmed the sad development on Thursday.
Meanwhile, six Chitipa district council officials who were in contact with the DC have tested positive of the virus.
