One of MCP key witnesses in the historic Constitutional Court Elections Case, Peter Lackson Chimangeni has sounded an SOS amid financial constraints and suffering from Covid-19 pandemic.
President Lazarus Chakwera won the fresh elections, defeating Peter Mutharika after the court annuled the earlier presidential election.
In February 2020, Malawi’s constitutional court annulled Mr Mutharika’s victory in the May 2019 election, citing vote tampering.
However, seven months down the line and suffering from Covid-19, Chimangeni has gone to the social media explaining the pain he is suffering.
“Am at pains but let me share with you this. My wife and I tested positive to Covid-19 on January 10. Both of us besides being Bunda College graduates are still unemployment seven months into government.
“This pandemic has put me in deep thinking. Two unemployed patients one house and they have to eat, we need to manage and feed the house, we have to have more hygiene detergents to control the spread of the virus in the house, I need to find a way of feeding a one year baby to avoid passing the virus to him, I need to access drugs.
“I was down with cough and the doctor need a little more money. Now 14 days in isolation struggling to leave and feed. I can’t go for ganyu (piece work). Passing through this process I have no kind words.
“I didn’t expect that this time I would be going through this process of no hope for survial. if I die today to Covid-19 it means my little boy and my family will suffer after I spend almost two years working for the party which is in government. Penapake let’s be human.
“God please save me from this, give me the energy to work and Invest for my family zinazi zitichedwetsa,” he said

Very interesting. He’sn’t a hero, they won because it was a planned move by the court to have super performer apm out of office typically on tribal line. It was all jelous that engulfed our judiciary and mtambo. Look now the youthful leaders are struggling to contain the ncov and they are saying it point blank that all those campaign promises were assumptions and the dual have now seen the water falls and the storm on the sea. This is a good lesson to the youth. These people only need us to bring bread and butter to their tables after that the friendship ends like chankhwangwa chokoma pokwera. All they have for you is a basket full of praises, ” LOOK OUR HERO is here”. They have done this even to our forefathers whom they have accorded them a freedom fighter’s accolade while them are busy filling their bellies and amassing the worth our eyes will never see. not a hero at all but rather a charlatan. look what their recklessness has plunged the democracy into? they obviously lost the 2019 polls and resorted to bloody violence. malawi is now a role model of overturning credible polls by use of violence and wrongly interpreting the constitution to accommodate the bloody campaign post fair and credible polls. many democracies world wide are now turning to violence post polls to force the judiciary to annul the polls claiming obvious human errors as massive irregularities. the most interesting example is the US. to be honest if politicians will be left to mislead us because of their greedy and love of power, then democracy is doomed. were the marked ballots tippexed? if no why then annul the polls? why not eddit them using the ballot casted to cross check the human error? these people are not heroes and they had a hidden agenda they are moaning for now.
