Embarrassing! United Kingdom (UK) government officials were not present to welcome Malawi leader Dr Lazarus Chakwera and his relatives upon arrival at Heathrow Airport in London.
As per tradition, Prime Minister or senior cabinet ministers are supposed to welcome a head of state when landing in London on official duties.
Chakwera left the country on Sunday with a unit of his relatives ranging from daughters, sons-inlaws and nephews to attend virtual Global Education Summit on Financing Global Partnership for Education (GPE) 2021-2025.
The Summit, which will be co-hosted by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, and the President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta.
