Corruption Worsens in Malawi – USAID

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) says corruption is still rampant in Malawi, a development which is scaring donors and development partners

USAID Mission Director, Catie Lott was speaking on Tuesday at during the second day of 2021 National Development Conference in Lilongwe.

Lott said development partners are hesitant to inject money directly into government because of issues of corruption, capacity and others.

However, Lott said USAID is committed to working together with the Malawi Government in the priority areas outlined in Malawi 2063.

The 2021 National Development Conference was opened yesterday on Monday by President Lazarus Chakwera.
