In a desperate attempt to ensure they succeed with plans to put George Chaponda as Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, the madala team has resorted to issuing threats to some legislators who took an injunction against Chaponda’s election.
Impeccable sources have confined in us that among those targeted with the threats include Mwanza West legislator Joyce Chitsulo, Mulanje South MP Santigo Phiri, Hon Namachekecha MP, Hon Scott and Noel Lipipa of Blantyre City South.
“The idea is to discredit the injunction which was successfully obtained to restrain Chaponda from taking over from Hon. Nankhumwa as Leader of Opposition” said our source.
Among other things, the madala team is threatening to expel from the party, MPs that have openly challenged the ‘dubious’ election of Chaponda.
Through the injunction, Hon. Nankhumwa was re-instated to his position.
Today, Nankhumwa is attending the Business Committee meeting at Parliament Building in readiness for the Sixth meeting in the 49th Session of Parliament scheduled for 18th July 2022.
