Nsanje Police Head of Criminal Investigations Department Assistant Superintendent Michael Phiri has died after his house caught fire last night.
National Police Spokesperson, Peter Kalaya has confirmed the development in an interview with local media. He said the body of the officer was discovered burnt in a kitchen.
According to Kalaya, police investigations are underway to establish the cause of the fire which has also destroyed property worth millions.
