National Youth Director of the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Williams Richard Chimwendo Banda has lauded the youth in the country for resolving to continue playing a vanguard role in the development of the nation.
He said government has lined up different initiatives for them to achieve and fulfil their potential including in strategic sectors such as education, Information and technology, agribusiness, entrepreneurship among others.
In his address, Chimwendo underscored the government’s efforts to streamline and expedite the recruitment process, making it faster, transparent, and unbiased.
“As government, our endeavour is to empower youth and make the them the catalyst in national socioeconomic transformation of the country.
“President Dr Lazarus Chakwera’s government prime priority is to utilize the talent and energy of the youth for national building and prosperity,” said Chimwendo Banda who is also Minister of Local Government, Unity and Culture.
Bulldozer as he popularly known within the youth in the country was speaking on Saturday in Lilongwe where he joined First Lady Monica Chakwera who presided over the handover ceremony of new classroom block worth K54 million at Kabutyu Teacher’s Development Centre(TDC) Primary School at Nsaru.
Chimwendo who is also Leader of Government Business in Parliament said that MCP led government will continue to uphold fundamental human rights of every citizen in country regardless of their political, culture, religious, ethnicity affiliations.
“We already decided in our party to to create a policy mantra that every citizen is always right like we do in business circles that customer is always right with an aim of serving Malawians with humility and purpose. Therefore, i urge my fellow youth to maintain order and discipline at all times when serving Malawians with an aim of promoting coexistence and unity in country,” said Chimwendo Banda who is Member of Parliament for Dowa East Constituency.
He later attributed the robust vitality of the MCP youth in the new era democracy because of dynamic leadership of President Chakwera.
