Police at Ngabu in Chikwawa are keeping in custody 27-year-old for allegedly killing his wife by cutting off her breasts and removing her private parts before beheading her.
South East Police Region spokesperson Edward Kabango has identified the suspect as Mkwate Chimbizi.
He said the suspect suspected that his wife, Luwiza Leonard, 23, was having an extramarital affair.
Kabango says yesterday the suspect led officers to a site where he buried the victim’s head which has been found in a decomposed state.
The police spokesperson said Mkwate, in the picture, threw his wife’s genitalia and breasts in a pit latrine.
The incident, according to Kabango occurred on 3 June this year and a search for the victim’s body is underway.
In another development, the same Station is keeping in custody a 20 year old man for killing his grandmother on suspicion that she was practicing witchcraft since his mother is epileptic.
On the night of 2 June, the suspect Mateyu Mateyu sneaked into his grandmother’s house where he strangulated her and she died only to be discovered the following morning.
After thorough investigations, Mateyu was arrested and has since confessed and told the Police that he killed his granny for suspecting her to be a witch.
The deceased hailed Billy village while the suspect comes from Katomba village both in the area of Traditional Authority Ngabu in Chikwawa.
