Speaker Hara says Malawi is on the right path to social-economic development under President Chakwera

Hara addressing the press after the rally

MCP First Deputy Secretary General Catherine Gotani Hara says President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera possesses an astute ability of transforming this country through inclusive growth, by expanding the economy through long term investments while ignoring short term political impulses.

Hara was speaking yesterday at Vibangalala Primary School ground where she was the Guest of Honour at a rally that was organized by Member of Parliament for Mzimba South Emmanuel Chambulanyina Jere.

In her remarks, Hara said President Chakwera and his government have gone through biggest challenges such as pandemic, cyclones and the war in Ukraine that have slowed down Chakwera’s development goal.

He then assured the mammoth crowd that soon the ‘dysfunctional economy’ will be strong, resilient, welfare- oriented and commanding regional awe and respect saying Chakwera is a captain of results.

“We are heading towards bright path and soon Malawi under president Chakwera will be a bright spot that even the opposition will have nothing to say in 2025 tripartite polls as Malawi is on path to transformation,” said Hara who is also Speaker of National Assembly while urging MCP supporters to remain united and reconstruct party grassroot structures on road to 2025.

Speaking earlier Inkosi Mzukuzuku called on the country’s leadership to finish the last phase of the Jenda- Endingeni road from Embangweni saying the road is critical to economic growth of the area.

The Member of Parliament for the area pledged to continue developing the area and has since urged government to enforce farmgate prices as vendors are buying from them at low prices.

Several MCP top brass attended the development rally including First Deputy Speaker Madalitso Kazombo, MCP Director of  Election Dr Elias Chakwera among others.
