Mchinji side, Extreme FC has progressed to the last 16 of FDH Bank Cup following their victory against Namitete Zitha FC today.
Their victory at Civil Stadium in Lilongwe came in post-match penalties that ended in 5-4 goals.
Namitete Zitha FC was a better side in the first half of the match, but lack of power force in the frontline costed them. However, the second half ended goalless resulting into penalty shoot out.
After the match Extreme FC Coach Elvis Kafoteka told journalists that, it was a tough match dispute that their opponent plays in the lower division of the country.
“I told my players to continue a good fighting spirit, and forget about the past including a win against Wanderers two weeks ago, then should focus on the future.” Kafoteka said
Extreme FC mentor has however applauded his players for the fighting spirit and ensure complacency.
His counterpart, Namitete FC coach Martin Mkamanga conceded defeat and dismissed sentiments that they underrated the super league outfit because they have never been beaten in their last head-to-head matches.
“We had chances during early minutes of the first half but we couldn’t score. It was our fault and not our day.” complained Mkamanga.
