Silver Strikers has grabbed three points putting them back at the top of TNM Super League log table after beating Karonga United nicknamed Ingwina Syamwakaronga, on Sunday at Bingu National Stadium.
A hat-trick from Patrick Macheso and one from Mark Fodya carried their team to triumph and go three points’ clear FC Nyasa Big Bullets which dropped two points on Saturday against Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
The Central Bankers now have 24 points, while Bullets 21 points with no goal difference as all are at fithteen.
At the end of the match, Macheso was voted man-of-the-match with a TNM Mpamba Cash-In of K50, 000.
Silver Strikers Head Coach Hendrikus Pieter De Jongh said they played good football and his team was a stand-out in all departments against Karonga side.
De Jongh said, “We are focusing on the next match, today we did a very good job. We try to focus on each and every match, weekly.”
Karonga United Coach conceded defeat citing lack of finishing power-force costed them a game, as they created many chances, hence rework on strategies that might help them in next matches.
“We have more matches to play, and we are working on improving our game plan so that we get back in winning mode.” He said
In other TNM Super League matches Mighty Mukuru Wanderers drew one-all at home against Dedza Dynamos and Ekwendeni has hammered Extreme FC at home 1-0.
