Best Screen Printers has called upon well-wishers and the corporate world to join hands in youth empowerment drive saying: “youth empowerment is a key to social-economic development of the country”.
Director for Best Screen Printers, Gladys Siula Chitengo, made the appeal on Friday ahead of 2nd cohort of screen printing and entrepreneurship trainings slated for August this year at the institution.
She said the training which among others will focus on graphic designing, entrepreneurship; screen printing, car and shop branding will help to create more youth entrepreneurs in the country.
“We are calling upon well-wishers, organizations and the corporate world to partner with us by supporting needy students who are willing to attend the training but they are unable due to financial challenges,”
“We are also we are calling upon companies in screen printing to send their employees for this training so that they should upgrade and learn new skills,” Siula Chitengo appealed.
According to Siula Chitengo, the training is as one way of complimenting government’s effort of creating jobs for the jobless youth as well as a step towards Malawi’s blue print, the Malawi2063.
”We thought of organizing the training as a way of contributing to national development in line with Malawi2063 which talks of transforming Malawi into a wealthy, inclusive and self-reliant nation.
“We believe the training will help in creating more entrepreneurs. If more Malawians are empowered economically it means more people will be self-reliant,” said Siula, adding the August training is targeting graduates, diploma holders, jobless and MSCE candidates.
