Blantyre, July 1: Vice President Saulosi Chilima with his wife Mary, on Saturday attended a wedding of Erasmus Phiri and Tionge Chilima officiated at Chigumula Living Waters Church in Blantyre.
Also in attendance were high profile government officials and Traditional leaders who included Minister of Labor Agness Nyalonje, Senior Chief Kapeni, and Bishops from the Living Waters Church, among others.
At the start of the ceremony, Chilima danced slowly from outside going into the church together with his sister Tionge while holding hands as DeeJay played Congratulation, a famous song by Ada.
Before exchanging vows, officiating clergy, Reverend Penda Mulagha read the scriptures from the book of Genesis 2 verse 18 which says it’s not good for a man to be alone. he said what Erasmus and Tionge have done is in line with the scriptures.
Reverend Mulagha said marriage is a beautiful gift God gave to humanity as such the two should continue to love one another in all situations.
He advised Tionge to always listen to her husband and for Erasmus to love his wife unconditionally and treat each other as King and Queen, respectively.
Speaking on behalf of Living Waters Church Founder, Apostle Stanley Ndovie, Bishop Bright Mussa wished the now Mr. and Mrs. Phiri well in their married life, advising them to be exemplary.
