…farmers are co-travellers to national building
Malawi Congress Party (MCP) National Youth Director Williams Richard Chimwendo Banda has said President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera believes that an empowered farmer is a catalyst of national-building, therefore, his government has put top priority in utilizing their hardworking and energy for a sustainable economic growth in the country.
He also said the MCP government regard the farmers as co- travellers on the path of rebuilding exercise and making Malawi a better country.
Chimwendo was speaking at MCP rally on Sunday, July 16 at Mponela Police ground where he was the Guest of Honour. The rally was hosted by Member of Parliament for the area (Dowa Central Constituency) Darlington Harawa.
He said: “Chakwera has undertaken an oath to make the farmers as charioteers of the country in fulfilling his pledge to transforming this nation while announcing that this year’s AIP will start “soon” and it is expected to have lesser hitches as compared to last year as many logistics challenges have been ironed out.
On youth empowerment, Chimwendo says President Chakwera believes that the youth are engine of economic growth
“Across the diverse sectors of our economy, the MCP agenda is committing itself to an ecosystem where every youth”s dreams and aspirations are fulfilled without discrimination.
“We are empowering our youths not for tomorrow’s sake but for today and eternity. This is why President Chakwera has reformed NEEF so that they get financial resources and start- up support services to enable them to boost their businesses and engage them in skill development and apprentice while boosting their future prospects and build an entrepreneurship ecosystem,” said Chimwendo Banda who is also Minister of Local Government, Unity and Culture.
On politics, Chimwendo declared that President Chakwera will win the 2025 tripartite polls because many Malawians have realised that he is the best person who can put this country out of the economic hardships the country is facing now and that he does not practice politics of tribalism and nepotism as it was in the past régimes.
Several top brass MCP leaders attended the rally which include First Deputy Speaker, Madalitso Kazombo, Regional Chairperson Patrick Chilondola, Minister of Health Kumbize Chiponda among others.
