Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima on Sunday morning joined Inkosi Ya Makhosi M’mbelwa V of Mzimba at Lilongwe Golf Club for this year’s Umthetho Cultural Festival fundraiser.
According to the Secretary for the Mzimba Heritage Association Kingsley Jere, the total budget for the annual event is K53 million.
Jere says so far K25 million has been raised and that they intend to raise K5 million through the tournament.
Dr Chilima is among 46 golfers who are taking part in the golf tournament.
This year’s Umthetho Cultural Festival will take place from 9th to 12th August 2023 at Hora in Mzimba.-MBC
