Chimbota Community Development Organisation, a non-profit organization operating in the country, over the week-end donated bags of Maize to Ndirande Malabada orphans in Blantyre.
Kevin Troughton, the Co-Director for Chimbota Community Development Organisation, said the donation has been made with support from Ireland based charity organisation, Africa Direct.
“Today, we have donated Maize to over eight orphanages here at Ndirande-Malabada,” said Troughton in an interview.
Troughton further appealed to other well-wishers to come out and assist orphans who are in dare need of basic needs such as food and shelter.
Last week, the organisation also donated Maize to 500 less privileged and elderly people who were affected by the Cyclone Freddy in Machinjiri Township, Blantyre.
Both Ndirande-Malabada and Machinjiri donated has costed over 3 million kwacha, according to Troughton.
Chimbota CDO exists to bring development to the area of Sub Traditional Authority (STA) Mundola to the south of Nkhata Bay boma and now it is expanding its programs in Blantyre.
