Grezelder Jeffrey has insisted that she is still the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) secretary general (SG) and will proceed with the arrangements of the national convention slated for December 16 2023.
Jeffrey, held a press briefing in Lilongwe today along side other party officials who were part of the national governing council meeting she called and was held on December 6.
During the briefing today she said everything regarding the convention is on track.
“Now we have opened the door for collection of nomination papers and payment of fees. Positions are open to everyone who can afford the nomination fee at any position and so far only two candidates have collected the forms and paid the fees,” she said.
On her invitation to attend the Central Executive Committee meeting at Page house in Mangochi tomorrow as summoned by party president Peter Mutharika, Jeffrey said she has not received any invitation.
She equally said she has not received any communication regarding her removal as the party’s SG and re-assignment to the position of vice-president for the centre. Nation Online
