Zomba principal resident magistrate Martin Chipofya has released a human rights activist Bon Kalindo on bail.
This follows Kalindos’ arrest on the 4th of this month for proposing violence at an assembly during anti-government demonstrations in Zomba.
Police on Wednesday asked the court to incarcerate Kalindo for seven days to avoid interference and influencing witnesses.
The court says the state has failed to demonstrate that Kalindo will interfere with witnesses. The court is about to examine surity.
