Police in Lilongwe have arrested 12 more presiding officers who were located at Lilongwe City Centre constituency during the 2019 Tripartite Elections.
According to James Kadadzela, National Police Publicist they are suspected to have taken a hand in mismanaging the 2019 elections.
Kadadzela said the twelve will be charged with ‘Use of tippex and alterations of official documents contrary to section 115 (C) as read with section 118 of the PPE Act.
The total number of the arrested presiding officers is now at 17.They will be taken to court Tuesday for prosecution soon.
the question is, was the tippex only used in LL city centre? was it only used on the presidential polls excluding the parliamentary and local government? is this the only polls tippex was used since 1964? as you can see their case has already been determined because they will be tried by the same courts that had already crucified them and is busy clearing mist surrounding their questionable verdict. it would have been better to have their case tried by a totally independent justice system either international or regional if there happen to be one. these guys were not allowed to enter the doc during the case because of the people who were baying for their blood in a fashion of making their side not heard. all the people involved must also be questioned: the party monitors because the corrections were made in full view and agreement of every one. what people must know is that the intelligence already knew this after the leakage of that hrdc and an opposition leader conversation audio. thats why UN was invoved to witness how crookery, unfairy and unjust we are. i really doubt if the so called alterations were made in a secret room. abuse of power is all what influences all this. the good news is the UN participated in the who process which was later on trashed in a cowardly manner.
