Freedom of Worship Association Movement-FOWAM has hit hard on the opposition Democratic Progressive Party-DPP; saying divisions in the party are caused by “old, greedy, irrelevant and recycled politicians unwilling to pave way for youthful leadership.”
FOWAM President, Prophet David Mbewe tells what he describes as old men to avoid using the youths to fulfill their ambitions of staying glued to power.
He has since challenged the party’s youths not to allow the old leadership to impose leaders on them rather regroup, get organized and rebrand the party to serve it from being finished by the “old”.
Political analysts have stressed that an early convention could help resolve the divisions.
This guy is interesting. Its annoying to see that these words are coming from the prophet. World wide the elderly are respected for their experience and wisdom they share in the society. Not so long we will learn from this guy if he will let it go, his ministry, when he shall be old. Things were amicably solved in the tense political atmosphere the youthful likes of chilima, mtambo, manganya and winiko, kondi etc created post credible polls. Had it been apm and his team were youthful too believe you me there would have been total chaos. Is there the law that bars the above sixties from holding any political position? The youth of today are the ones more pompous and they literally know nothing or in short they are very bad managers. Look what chilima and his fellow youth have led us into. Into the land of high inflation rate despite bumper harvest. Into the land where criminal rate is soaring. Into the land where the local currency is on the nose dive. Our prophet we are keeping our fingers crossed to see how the likes of you and your fellow youth will pave the way to the coming youth when you reach 60. By the way, how old are you?
