After arresting journalist Steven Maseya’ with pomp and fanfare, the State is yet to charge the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) broadcaster.
Police arrested Maseya on 10 November in Mangochi and drag him to Lilongwe on allegation that he was distributing fake Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examination papers.
But even after keeping him in their custody for five days, the state failed to charge Maseya, pleading for Court for additional five days.
But Senior Resident Magistrate Patrick Chirwa threw out the State’s plea and subsequently granting Maseya bail.
