Mighty Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Thyolo Central Constituency, Dr. Ben Malunga Phiri,has handed himself to police in Lilongwe.
Phiri, a former senior Cabinet Minister during DPP era, confirmed to have handed himself to police at Area 30 this morning.
According to Phiri, the police are yet to question on issues surrounding his warrant of arrest.
In related development, Former Reserve Bank governor, Dalitso Kabambe, too has a warrant of arrest hanging on his head and fiscal police is in the chase.
There are also reports that Kabambe, who aspires to become president of the opposition DPP, plans to hand himself in this morning.
Last night, Police also arrested Former Finance Minister and DPP Presidential hopeful, Joseph Mwanamvekha.

The thugs they have will not succeed to muzzle and threaten people’s choices. They should be mindful, and signs are already written on the walls, that this will be a one term presidency. That being the case those you are victimising now will incarcerate your group as well because it has been proven already that you rush into making arrests but fail to charge the culprits nor bring evidence. Fair justice requires you to investigate before arrests are made, but you are doing the opposite. When time comes you will pay back these deeds through your noses. Let us wait and see who will laugh the loudest. Surprisingly, all those taunted CSOs have buried their heads in the sand and can’t say anything. This Sattar crookedness will not go away just like that because its origins is not under the criminal control of MCP and their friends.
