Timothy Mtambo is undoubtedly a great rights activist, a very brave freedom fighter, very talented in rights activism, very rare breed in this field, probably second only to the great Chakufwa Chihana.
Mtambo successfully managed to mobilize people, in some cases at very short
notice, for demos.
However, I doubt his successes, as a brave freedom fighter, will turn him to be
a successful great politician.
His move to join partisan politics is ill timed, ill advised and ill informed, to be more blunt, unpalatable and tasteless.
His move is more of personal strategy than that
of forging national interest as he tried to fool us at the press conference.
He thinks the UTM/MCP alliance (I wonder why
some people start with MCP when writing about this alliance), would win the
election and that he will be offered a lucrative government position as a
reward.
But this is the betrayal of the highest order to the people of Malawi who held him in high esteem because of his role as an activist.
He has always told us that him and HRDC will not
retire until Jane Ansah and the other MEC commissioners are removed from their
positions, has this been achieved?
He talked about continuing with the demos until the
issue of Nsundwe women has been resolved, has this been done?
There are other catologue of issues he said he
would continue fighting for Malawians which he has miserably failed to achieve.
It is laughable that Mr Mtambo, the great
Timothy Mtambo, is abandoning his great cause just to fight the DPP for
personal gain.
I don’t think that president Peter Mutharika,
Honourable Atupele Muluzi and their respective party officials and followers
can have sleepless nights over this move that Mtambo blah blah blah.
After all, it was in everyone’s knowledge that
Mtambo and his HRDC were being unleashed by the MCP to torment the DPP and make
the government ungovernable for political reasons.
His latest move is a clear testimony that he is
not a stable person worth trusting.
In the likely event that the UTM/MCP alliance is
whipped miserably at the ballot box by the DPP, he will jump ship to the
exciting and great mighty DPP/UDF led government.
Dr Saulos Chilima and Dr Lazarus Chakwera should
welcome and treat Mr Mtambo with great suspicion, after all he will not take
with him into politics the great fame he amassed during his hay days as a
rights activist.
As someone has aptly put it, uku ndi kutha kwa
shasha.
Politics can be brutal and unforgiving, after all,
advise bwana Mtambo.
Nkhani yabvuta iyi, konsekuja kunali kufuna mipando yonona, za manyazi zedi. Nkhanga zaona ku mwezi.
khalan chete dpppp mtambo akuphan kale mwangokhala ngat mphenvu ndi mbuya wanuyo

What kind of activists do we have in Malawi. How are we going to trust these people so called human Rights fighters. From the beginning I never trusted this grouping so called HRDC.I knew they were figting for human Rights for their persona gains, shame on you guys.Mtambo has cheated Malawians and he must apologize.Poeple lost their lives, properties and peace during demonstration.
