Malawi has received a consignment of medical supplies from World Health Organisation (WHO)-Kenya towards reaching out to people affected by Cyclone Freddy.
In a Tweet, the local WHO office has disclosed that the medical supplies are worth $155,000.
The medical aid comes as most displaced people and survivors of the devastation need medical attention and treatment.
Meanwhile, an emergency Medical Team of experts from the UK has started working in various health facilities in to treat serious injuries among survivors.
The team is working with the ministry of health as part of the UK’s support to Malawi government in the aftermath of the cyclone.
Cyclone Freddy caused 579 deaths in three Southern African countries, including Mozambique and Madagascar.
Malawi was hit the hardest with at least 476 victims and nearly half a million people displaced.-(Credit: Capital FM)
