Police in Phalombe have arrested two people for allegedly being found with two dead bodies of newly born babies.
Phalombe Police Spokesperson, Jimmy Kapanja identified the suspects as Charles Katunga and Amos Magombo, both from Traditional Authority Kaduya in the district.
Kapanja said police received a tip from a businessman at Migowi Trading Centre, who claimed that the two suspects were offering for sale corpses of infants.
The officers arrested the two suspects who were found with the bodies in a decomposed state in their bags.
The two revealed to have trespassed and vandalized a graveyard at Jaden Village in the area of Traditional Authority Kaduya.
Meanwhile, according to Kapanja, police has ordered reburial of the bodies of the babies who were twins.
