Thyolo Thava legislator, Mary Navicha has urged her constituents to practice winter cropping to reduce the impact of hunger caused by the recent devastation caused by Cyclone Freddy across the country’s southern region districts.
Navicha, a Democratic Progressive Party Member of Parliament, was speaking in the area of Senior Chief Mphuka where Chibuku Products Limited (CPL) donated over 150 bags (each weighing 50kgs) of maize flour to cyclone survivors.
“My constituents lost property including food. I have been knocking on the doors of well -wishers to assistant. I am also distributing seed to those affected to promote winter cropping,” said Navicha.
In his remarks, Sales and Marketing Manager for CPL Henry Mbweza said the donation is a continuation of the company’s response to the disaster.
The company made the donation through Co – Goodwill Ambassador for Malawi’s Cyclone Freddy recovery response who is also the country’s former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi.-MBC ONLINE
