Urban and afro hip-hop artist in the country Tay Grin has stressed the need for artists not to forget their roots and background in their art if the country is to export its talent.
Speaking ahead of his party dubbed “Royal Affair: A King’s Celebration” at Umodzi Park in Lilongwe today Saturday, Grin said the best gate pass to dining with kings is embracing culture in one’s art.
” It is very important to celebrate and enjoy our roots. This is why I have organised this red-carpet event to create a platform for celebrities, ambassadors, corporate leaders, government officials and captains of the industry to interact and enjoy a fusion of artistic masterly, cultural celebration and introduction of my new song Tcha to the international and local fellowship,” said Tay Grin.
Grin came to the limelight in the music industry in the early 2000s and has released cultural songs like Kumanda kwa abambo anga, Chipapapa, Photo and the recently released Tcha. – (Story Credit: Paul Mlowoka, MBC)
