Malawi national football team coach, Patrick Mabedi, has named a 20-member squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers against Senegal.
Notably absent from the squad is Frank “Gabadinho” Mhango, who has been omitted for the second consecutive time.
Mabedi has recalled striker Richard Mbulu, who plays for Mozambican side Costa do Sol, and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers left-back Timothy Silwimba.
Goalkeeper Brighton Munthali returns to the team after recovering from an injury that kept him out of the September matches.
The Flames face Senegal in Dakar on 11 October and host them in Lilongwe four days later.
Malawi are currently bottom of Group C after losing to Burkina Faso (3-1) and Burundi (3-2).
