Dan Lufani, a musician known for his songs praising the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and its leader Lazarus Chakwera, has been arrested in Lilongwe.
Lufani was taken into custody for allegedly assaulting water board officials who were on a mission to disconnect water services at his residence in Lilongwe.
He is expected to spend the night in a police cell at Lilongwe Police Station.
